Battery Management

More flexibility and control within an overloaded energy grid

Battery storage plays an increasingly significant role in energy management. Not only to store energy but to maintain control over capacity, peak load, and available power. With Battery Management, Maxem helps organizations actively deploy storage across the entire energy system.

What is Battery Management?

What is Battery Management?

Battery Management enables controlled deployment of batteries within the energy system. The Maxem Energy Controller manages charging and discharging, available capacity, peak load, local energy consumption, and grid load.

As a result, stored energy is used at times when it adds the most value.

Why battery management is becoming more important

Why battery management is becoming more important

Electrification, grid congestion, and rising energy demand put greater pressure on energy infrastructure.

Battery storage helps organizations to be more flexible with energy, reduce peak loads, make better use of locally generated energy, and decrease dependence on the grid. But without centralized control, the potential of storage remains limited.

How does it work?

How does it work?

The Maxem Energy Controller acts as the link between the battery system and the broader on-site energy system. Through the controller, Maxem communicates in real-time with the Battery Management System (BMS) of the storage. Based on current grid load, building consumption, and charging demand, the system automatically controls charging and discharging without manual intervention.

Benefits of Battery Management

More control over peak load:

reduce load during peak moments.

More efficient use of stored energy:

use energy where and when it is needed.

More flexibility within limited grid capacity:

create extra space within existing connections.

Reliable energy supply:

more control over available power.

Prepared for further electrification:

support growth of charging infrastructure and energy consumption.

For whom?

Power Schedules are interesting for organizations with charging infrastructure, high energy demand, limited grid capacity, dynamic energy rates, and multiple energy assets.
